A Workshop Story

I was requested to do a program/ workshop in November of 2004 for the Oklahoma Metaphysical Study Club, which was a long-standing group formerly called the Oklahoma Society for Psychic Research. The topic was "Deliberate Creating and Channeled Messages About Our True Nature." I'll put my outline at the bottom in case anybody is interested in some of the (little) information there-- I preferred to have only an outline rather than writing the entire program out (a bit odd for a writer) and there was no recording so the transcript is not available.

The idea of mostly "winging it" links into what I had the impulse to write about today-- the idea of being in the front of that room and watching the myriad reactions to the information. The room was full-- a wonderful sign considering many of the previous meetings of that club had been rather empty. There was a fairly wide variety of people in attendance, some familiar faces and some new to me.

While I was presenting the information and answering questions, there were some people nodding in agreement, many looks of interest, and then also some people looked like they recognized the truth of it but simply couldn't reconcile it with their belief systems. One woman in particular looked as if her foundations were crumbling underneath her and she was trying for some sort of foot-hold to grab onto. I can relate, been there-- but how to balance that sort of situation when you have some folks ready to hear more? Well, I didn't push. I had answered her question succinctly but when I saw that look in her eyes I didn't elaborate.

People say one has a "deer in the headlights" look when one has a blank face, no expression. What I saw was much more akin to what I imagined a deer in the headlights might really look like, though maybe I was projecting fear onto the deer. This woman was afraid. (And I was just talking! Some profound and cool topics in my opinion, but just talking.)

I went on to other topics, answered other questions, but yes there was a feeling in the air of "she didn't finish that." I felt like saying, "You're right, I didn't finish that, and for a very good reason!" but I didn't. I didn't want to embarrass anybody or put any more attention on anyone who was having a challenge of it already anyway.

This happened several times, little clues from people, do this, don't do this, and I ran with it the best I could. Most of these looks or movements would have been imperceptible to most of the people in the room, since all eyes faced toward me. Although, this was a metaphysical/ psychic gathering and maybe many more people knew what was going on than I gave credit for at the time. ;)

In retrospect it looks like I was very wise for not having a full transcript already written out and a hardened-into-steel plan to go forth with, but at the time all I had was a feeling. Once again reminded to trust those feelings. :) It worked out very well to have lots of leeway. I did tell people they could contact me for further information or sharing if they wanted to or attend the Reality Tweakers group either in person or online discussion or both, and several did, forging new friendships while exploring new (or not so new) frontiers.

When all was said and done, quite a bit had been said and done. :D And once again I don't know why I'm rambling about all of this now, just a feeling. Gotta trust those feelings. :)

Beth Shearon came to Enid from Naples, Florida to attend Phillips University in 1993. Studying political science, she planned to go to law school when events seemingly beyond her control changed her life. She was diagnosed with "severe to extreme depression," and spent three years as a guinea pig for the medical and mental health communities until she decided to take matters into her own hands.

In 1998 she separated from the medical "help" and self-healed the depression, delving further into metaphysical studies. Beth has spent the last four years immersed in intense, full-time research of the nature of reality, deliberate creating, and channeled material from broader perspective. Through research and personal experience she has gained insights that have changed her life forever, and enjoys sharing these with people of like mind and people looking for a change.

In April of this year, Beth founded Reality Tweakers, an Enid-based group for changing the idea and experience of what is traditionally held as "solid" reality. She also runs her own business, Spark of Creativity, for her fine art, unique raku pottery and clay design, and other expressions. Her latest adventure has been working with others to create a nonprofit meditation center and lending library here in Enid.

Range from very spiritual to very scientific. Their information and methods can be as complicated or as simple as you can imagine.

Basically what these guys are all saying is that we have more of an influence over our experience than what we've traditionally been taught-- a LOT more of an influence, most of them insisting that we're creating everything in our experience, whether consciously or unconsciously.

  D. Quantum physics in brief
Quantum physics now tells us that the tiniest particles are in fact only particles part of the time which behave according to expectation.


II. Channeled entities, the channels, and the material
It's important for me to tell you that all of the channels I'm talking about today did not accept these things lightly

  A. Jane Roberts & Seth
Jane Roberts has been called ~the~ psychic of the 20th century. She began speaking for Seth in 1964 after playing with a ouija board, doing skeptical research for an ESP "how-to" book. She wrote many books about consciousness exploration. Jane "died" in 1984.

Seth calls himself an "energy personality essence" not bound by space and time. He says he has lived many physical lives and now presents his information so that we can become more aware of our multidimensional selves. He dictated over 11 books through Jane from 1970 to 1984 (this does not count the books mentioned above, 'just from Jane'. Seth Speaks is at the public library.

  B. Jerry and Esther Hicks & Abraham
It took quite a bit of discussion from Jerry about the effects of the Seth material on his own experience before his wife Esther would even consider the information. Once she began studying the material she decided they must go see Jane, but it turned out Jane had already died. She saw a different channel who told Esther she had the ability to channel, herself. Jerry and Esther started sharing Abraham's information in 1986, and have since published over 600 books, videos and cassettes. They do workshops in over 50 cities a year, and send free quarterly newsletters to anyone who requests them.

Abraham is a group of teachers from non-physical. They say they have never been physical, although they know about it through Esther and the rest of us. They offer their broader perspective on a wide variety of topics for what they call "uplift-ment from our Total Self."

  C. Darryl Anka & Bashar
Darryl Anka thirty years ago had two close-range UFO sightings over L.A. and decided to read what he could, winding up reading all sorts of whatever "paranormal" books were available at the time. Eventually he went to a channel who wound up offering a channeling class by the entity being channeled through, in which Darryl made a connection with Bashar and remembered making an agreement with him to channel. He has been channeling Bashar now for over twenty years, in several U.S. cities and countries around the world.

Bashar presents himself as an extraterrestrial from about 300 years into our future. He says they are 4th density physical moving into fifth, so they have a type of physicality but do not have quite the limited perspective that we do. His information is practical, straightforward, and applicable. He says "this is not philosophy, this is physics." He offers suggestions of things that have worked for them which may work for us if we choose to apply them.

  D. Mike Dooley & Notes from the Universe

  E. Mary Ennis & Elias
Mary started channeling in 1995 during a meditation with friends. She has been very frank and open about her experiences both with channeling and creating and working to understand her experiences of life in general. She has done over 1600 recorded sessions, does privates and group sessions, and also does phone sessions.

Elias calls himself an energy personality essence and says what he does is technically not channeling but energy exchange, because he is a different entity than Mary/Michael. His purpose is clarity in offering information to avoid trauma in the shift in consciousness. He says the only difference between him and us is that he remembers who he is.

The Elias Forum website had over 4,000 visitors in October. It has a team of volunteers doing transcription and all are available on the website for free except a few that were too personal for people to want to share. They are totally searchable, there is an index to browse, and digests of topics to read which link to entire transcripts.
